The initial radiograph revealed a previously root canal-treated tooth exhibiting signs of apical pathology, likely due to persistent periapical infection or microleakage. Considering the extent of the bone involvement and recurrent infection, tooth extraction followed by implant therapy was deemed the best long-term solution.
Using CBCT-based planning and surgical guidance, the infected tooth was atraumatically extracted, followed by ridge preservation. A few months later, a root-form titanium dental implant was precisely placed in the healed site. Follow-up radiographs show excellent osseointegration, bone healing, and ideal implant positioning with no signs of peri-implant radiolucency.
