Best option for teeth replacement? Before we answer this question, we first need to understand and accept that there is a need for teeth replacement. It may be single, multiple or all. I remember seeing a patient almost 5 years ago, who had no teeth for almost a year, could not wear dentures, and after a year her hemoglobin had dropped down to 4, due to constipation and hemorrhoids and the medical specialist sent her back to the dentist for some kind of teeth replacement, so that she can chew properly and digestion of food is better. This is one of so many examples of improper chewing affecting other systems of the body leading to comorbidities like uncontrolled diabetes, constipation, hemorrhoids B12 deficiencies, anemia, etc. You may argue that these conditions happen only when all teeth are missing and you have just one or two teeth missing, which is not affecting your chewing. Any good dentist in thane, mulund or anywhere else would tell you, if you don't replace these teeth, adjacent teeth will tilt in that space, opposing teeth will start growing in the space as it is unopposed. This keeps happening at a very slow pace and hence you don't realize the gravity of the situation until one fine day you start having pain in your ear or one full side of your head, which is generally misunderstood for migraine or ear problems. But when your physician tells you or refers you to a dentist you realise, your negligence has cost you big time. There is a wide range of options available to replace teeth, depending on whether you are looking for the cheapest option or best option for replacement teeth. Today the best option available is definitely dental implants, but is it the right option for you or your case, will be decided by your dentist depending on factors like bone and space availability, medical fitness, etc. One of the very Important factors is definitely the cost of dental implants, ranging from 25000-50000 per tooth, depending on the make of the implant. If an implant is not possible for any reason, caps and bridges are the next choice for fixed replacement. Sometimes even a simple removable denture can solve your problem. Hence, what is more important is to have the most trusted dentist for getting the right option for you. Someone who will explain to you with complete clarity what will be the best. Recently I treated a patient Farooq who lost a part of his jaw and few teeth in COVID due to Fungal infection and wanted a fixed replacement. Only option for fixed replacement in his case was Implants anchored in zygoma, which was possible but Farooq is highly diabetic. We counselled him that for him denture would be the best possible treatment and that he should try wearing the denture first. It's now been 10 days since we made a removable denture for him and he is already well adjusted to it and very happy with the looks and outcome too. So, not necessarily the costliest option is the only best option for your case. PLEASE STOP IGNORING YOUR DENTAL PROBLEMS AND BOOK AN APPOINTMENT TODAY!!
